In this lesson, we learned about different textiles and their composing logics, and we used various items we found around the school to create our own textiles.

Elaine and I were particularly drawn to the idea of creating a more natural style, using materials that could be found in the surrounding environment. We began our search in the school's green spaces, collecting fallen branches and petals that we could incorporate into our design. After carefully selecting the items we wanted to use, we began building the foundation of our heart material using a combination of hemp rope and thin wire.

To add an extra dimension of interest to our design, we decided to create a three-dimensional structure that would give our heart material depth and texture. Using our imaginations and problem-solving skills, we found creative ways to interweave the different materials and build a cohesive design that was both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound.

Finally, we took care to fill in any gaps between the horizontal and vertical materials, interlacing leaves and flowers to create a more cohesive and visually stunning design. Overall, this project allowed us to explore our creativity and experiment with different materials and design concepts, and we are proud of the unique heart material that we were able to create.
